Learning To Swim On Your Side

Learning Objectives: Balance Point drill is a way to get prepared to start kicking on your side. Push off on your back, make sure the water is around your face, then rotate your hips just enough to where you feel balanced in the water. Keep your head still, extend your underwater arm, and continue kicking. Feel free to use fins for this.

DO's

  • Surround your face with water
  • Keep your arm extended
  • Kick lightly (fins okay)

DON'Ts

  • Move your head
  • Kick hard or aggressively
  • Rotate hips all the way to 90 degrees

How To Do It:
